Eligibility:
  • The Participants should be Syro Malabar Faithfuls of Diocese of Mandya
  • Participants must present parish family book with personal details along with parish priest’s letter on parish letter head is mandatory
  • Aadhar card is mandatory
Rules and Regulations:
  • The Tournament will be held in league and knockout format
  • League will be of 6 overs per side on every match
  • Knockout games will be of 8 overs per side on every match
Tournament Structure of HPL
  • The HPL tournament is open to all ages
  • Matches will be conducted on a league cum knockout Format
  • The Teams will be bifurcated into 4 groups of 4 teams for the league stage
  • Each team will play each other in the group stages
  • Top 2 teams of each group will move to next round – knockout stages
  • In case of a tie in the group stage, teams with better run rate will advance to the next stage
  • The tournament will continue as knockout format (quarterfinals, semi-final and final)
  • Teams should consist of 11 players
  • Full cricket ground will be used for all the matches
  • Tie Resolution: In the event of a tie, the match will be decided by a Super Over.
Ball Usage FOR HPL
  • All the Matches will be played in green “VICKY” balls only
  • A new ball will be used for each Innings of all the matches
  • In the event of a ball being lost, it will be replaced with a used ball.
Game Rules:
  • HPL will follow ICC regulations. Umpire decisions are final
  • Team Composition: Each team must have 15 (11+ 4) players+ 5 Supporting staff (Max)
  • There will be power play for first 2 overs
  • The pitch length will be 20 Yard or 21 Yard-to be confirmed on the tournament day
  • A match can have up to 3 substitutions (substitute players are not allowed to bowl or bat)
  • Fielding restrictions: For the first two overs, 3 Fielders are allowed outside the 30 Yard Circle
  • Only 2 bowlers are allowed to bowl 2 overs per side-league stage (6 over per side) Only 3 bowlers are allowed to bowl 2 overs-knock out stage (8 over per side)
  • All bowlers must bowl overarm. Chucking/ throwing/ or underarm actions are not permit­ ted
  • The umpire’s decision on the bowling action is final
  • Only one bouncer per over is allowed
  • An extra ball and run will be awarded for each no ball or wide ball bowled. It will NOT be considered for a FREE HIT
  • A full toss ball bowled above the waist height of the batsman is considered as a no-ball to ensure player safety, it will NOT be considered for a FREE HIT
  • There will be no LBW dismissals
  • If a ball passes the batsman without being touched, the batting team can score byes
  • Runs completed off a legitimate ball that touches the batsman’s body will be credited as NO RUN
  • If the ball reaches the boundary due to an overthrow, the boundary runs are added to the runs scored before the overthrow to the batsman
  • A batsman is out only when the bails are removed from the stumps, in accordance with the umpire’s decision
  • A substitute runner is permitted only if deemed necessary by the umpire and the oppo­ sing team captain. Their decision is final
  • If a batsman gets out by a catch, the new batsman will take the strike for the next ball (cross over is not allowed)
Equipment
  • The organizers will provide green “VICKY” Tennis Balls along with wickets and bails.
  • Teams must bring their own bats.
  • Track Pants and Team Jersey is must for all the players
Changeover/Strategy Time
  • A 5-minute changeover/strategy time will be allowed at the end of each innings
Additional Rules
  • Once a team is eliminated, that team members cannot join other teams who are still in the com­ petition
  • Any changes to rules or dimensions of the playing area will be communicated along with the match schedule
  • Rescheduling of matches will not be entertained under any circumstances
  • The condition of play and ground will be determined by the umpire
  • All participants are expected to exhibit professional behaviour and refrain from using abusive language or questioning umpires’ decisions
  • Players must play with the ball as received from the pack
  • Tampering the ball (e.g., using fire or rubbing it on the ground) will lead to disqualifi­cation of the team
  • Violations of these regulations may result in awarding the match to the opposing team or imposing penalties
  • On-field issues or queries should be addressed by the team captain to the umpires direct­ly
  • Umpires’ and organizers’ decisions are final
  • If a team does not show up within 10 minutes of the match start time, the opposing team will be awarded a walkover. If both teams are absent, the match will be declared as cance­ lled
  • All team members must arrive at the venue on time. A walkover will be awarded if a team fails to do so. (A representative cannot ask umpires to wait)
